ace ventura documents a hands-on path through reverse engineering, Rust, Go, and small developer tools. They have shipped Roxy, a minimal proxy manager, and Rboard, a Rust clipboard manager; they have also built a search-engine component, a link shortener, and a Go web app while learning the sharp edges of packaging, deployment, concurrency, and databases.

How they work

They learn by building small systems and testing the edges: Rust projects, Go concurrency experiments, command-line explanations, and public debugging notes. The channel mixes launches with iteration, from Linux packaging and database migrations to changing a game after release.

Reverse Engineering, One App at a Time

The channel began by tracing a difficult app from start to finish, then recreating its logic. Soon the work had grown into adding custom UI and logic to an open-source decompiled app and getting it running on a low-spec laptop.

    The Rust Brain Era

A search component became a practical Rust and algorithms exercise, searching 100,000- and 200,000-word lists on every keystroke. By April, the experiments had turned into shipped tools: Roxy v0.1.0 and Rboard v0.1.0, with Linux packaging and clipboard behavior getting plenty of attention.

    Tools Leave the Laptop

The projects widened from local experiments to developer tools and web work: a concurrent file-search comparison, Unix tutorials, FlowHook’s first alpha, Telebirr integration libraries, and the tnylinks link shortener. Deployment became part of the curriculum too, including a Go app moved from MySQL to PostgreSQL before going live.

    Break the Toy

The latest chapter treats finished projects as invitations to experiment. Tictac launched as a game you could not win, then its AI and intended Easter egg became the next things to investigate.

The original reverse-engineering challenge, from tracing the app to planning a custom-file rewrite.

it was a Bible app.... now before u start judging I just wanted to extract the text but it WAS not beginner friendly. So I spent a week on it(the solution was r...

I just finished my "search engine" for a project am building. Its an autocorect type of thing. For now I made the brain, the part which decides which word to su...
