DEVpoet is a busy dev channel that mixes build updates with event recaps, shoutouts to people in the dev community and a steady stream of gigs and job openings. On the building side, it shipped The Dagmawi Dispatch, an open-source Telegram bot that turns a channel's flood of posts into a daily summary. More recent posts show work on REA, a tool for running apps across Linux distros, and a payment verification system.

  1. Apr – May 2026

    First sparks

The posts kick off in late April with news of a spot in the YC Founder Academy online program and a plan to document three product ideas and a few early builds. May adds a DEV3Pack hackathon recap and a push to escape tutorial hell by building for real.

  2. May – Jul 2026

    Opportunity board

From May to July the channel doubles as an opportunity board, passing along After query projects and Mindrift roles. In July it also opened sign-ups for REMOTE GO!, a very small remote-jobs community with only three spots.

    The Dispatch drops

August brought a launch: The Dagmawi Dispatch, a bot that summarizes a Telegram channel too busy to follow, with extras like /roast and /guess. It shipped open source, and the scraped post history was offered up for community builds. The month also had a team event and a shoutout to its organizer.

  4. Oct 2026

    Cooking season

October turned into build mode: one of the team's startups was accepted into Ethiopia's AI institute, and REA grew out of a beta app that only ran on Debian-based distros. A payment verification system followed at verifiable.fuad.world, set to merge with a colleague's version.

The Dagmawi Dispatch launch post, with the bot handle and the open-source code.

In their own words.

So I built a bot that reads his channel and gives you a daily summary instead of 30+ notifications.
